Day #14: Talepop Trail
Liberty Canyon Trail/Las Virgines Trail/Talepop Trail
Malibu Creek State Park- Calabasas, CA
 Thursday, July 9th 2015
Time: 3 hours, 33 minutes
Pace: 35:30/mile
Distance: 6.02 miles
Elevation Gain: 508 feet
Dogs allowed?: No

Directions:
From the 101 Freeway in Agoura Hills:
Exit Liberty Canyon Road and head south for about 0.6 miles. There is a large dirt area on the right side of the road here where I parked. Walk to the end of the road to begin the trail.

The trail heads due south from Liberty Canyon Road and follows some old ranch roads through the meadows. I followed this trail south almost all the way to Mulholland Hwy, and then looped to the east to connect to the Las Virgines Trail.

After turning onto the Las Virgines Trail, I came across a large Pacific Gopher Snake stretched all the way across the trail. Always make any hike great when I come across interesting reptiles along the way!

After a few photos of the snake, I continued north until I reached the Talepop trail. This trail goes up onto the ridge that we just came around, and heads back south along the length of the ridge to eventually connect back to the Liberty Canyon Trail. This makes for a zig zag style loop of the area.

Once at the end of the Talepop Trail, I turned right and head back north on the Liberty Canyon trail to my car.
