Time:  4 hours, 10 minutes
Pace:  39:42/mile
Distance:  5.85 miles
Elevation Gain: 1074 feet
Dogs Allowed?: No

Directions:
From Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu:
Travel north on Pacific Coast Highway for approx. 14.7 miles to Sycamore Canyon on the right hand side of the road.  Enter the campgrounds and day use parking is on the left side. There is a fee to park here, I believe it is $14.00

Today I headed down to the coast to escape the heat of the valleys.  I planned a route through the Sycamore Canyon area using some geocaches that I had yet to find. I started off in the campgrounds and headed north into Big Sycamore Canyon. Shortly after starting the trail, the Scenic Trail will be on the left.

I headed up the Scenic Trail and continued on a use trail that connects it to the Ray Miller Trail.  Great coastal views all the way up this route, however the use trail is very steep and washed out in sections, not good for kids here.

After joining the Ray Miller Trail I continued heading up until I reached the Overlook Trail, where I began my decent.  This is a great mountain bike trail as it is wide and well maintained. I decided on the way down that I wanted to get back on singletrack, so I turned onto the Fireline Trail to make my way down into Big Sycamore Canyon.

The last mile or so are down the Big Sycamore Canyon Fire Road. Nothing too special here, but look out for bikes on this section.
