Today I wanted to get some more miles of the Backbone Trail completed so I headed up Stunt Rd. to climb Saddle Peak and hike another great section of this trail.  The trail starts off on a short connector trail from Stunt Rd. Once you reach the actual Backbone Trail, turn left to head toward Saddle Peak.

After connecting to the Backbone, you start climbing right away.  As you are climbing you can see some large boulders at the top of the hill, this is Saddle Peak.  It has some amazing rock formations at the top and the trail takes you right through them.  After spending some time exploring the rocks at the peak, I continued on downhill to connect to Saddle Peak Rd and complete this section of trail.  From here I simply turned around and retraced my steps back to my car. Another absolutely amazing section of the Backbone completed!
