The El Rincon Trail
Day #15: Walnut Grove Park

Friday, July 10th 2015
Time: 48 minutes
Pace: 29:54/mile
Distance: 1.62 miles
Elevation Gain: 100 feet
Dogs allowed? Yes

Directions:
From the 101 Freeway in Thousand Oaks:
Exit Lynn road and head west for 0.3 miles to Greenmeadow Ave
Turn right onto Greenmeadow Ave and continue for 0.4 miles to Newbury Rd
Turn right onto Newbury Rd and continue 300 feet to the park on the left
Park on the street. Trail begins in the back corner of the park, follow the dirt path and it leads right to it.

Not much time for a hike today so I kept it simple and did a loop of my neighborhood including the park and the trail that follows some hills behind the neighborhood. The trail is straightforward, it just connects the park to Lynn Rd. From here I walk on Lynn back to Greenmeadow and then back through the neighborhood to my house. This will be my go to hike on days where work just doesn't allow me to get out to better spots.

 Day #16: El Rincon Trail
El Rincon Trail
Newbury Park, CA
Saturday, July 11th 2015
Time: 43 minutes
Pace: 37:58/mile
Distance: 1.16 miles
Elevation Gain: 217 feet
Dogs allowed?: Yes

Directions:
From the 101 Freeway in Thousand Oaks:
Exit Borchard Rd and head west on Borchard Rd for 4.0 miles until you reach Dos Vientos. Continue straight onto Via De La Mesa and then make a right onto Via Camino.
Follow Via Camino and park in the cul-de-sac at the end of the street. The trail starts in the cul-de-sac.

Another day with not much time so a quick hike around Dos Vientos. Starting at the end of Via Camino you can turn left onto the trail and follow it up where it connects to several other nearby trails. I simply followed this for about half a mile and returned the way I came.
